Fibre Art A unique six-month project of international interest incorporating three linked expositions: Wear it, Hang it and Build it. Highlighting the use of fibre in art. Artist from all over the world will be creating and presenting work. Yolande Snaith Theatredance, with designers Caroline Broadhead, Tamaar Tóth Varjú, Kei Ito, Suzanne Slack, Lotte Dreyer and dancers. What do you get when you put together one internationally-renowned choreographer, twelve dancers and five designers from various disciplines? A wonderful show called: ‘Chic Menagerie’. For three weeks Yolande Snaith and her company, will be working with local dancers and five outstanding designers to take part in a unique artistic collaboration, culminating in a live art event on Friday 31 may 1996. At a special Gala Night to launch FIBRE Art, they will present a choreographed show called “Chic Menangerie’ in the theatre, bringing to live the ‘wearable art’, produced during the residency. The works will be shown at the exhibition; Fibre Art: Wear it in the Warehouse Gallery Kendal UK. From sat 1 June to sat 6 July 1996. |
